Overview:
Enloe Health is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Health Information Management Analyst - Release of Information to join our team. As a Planetree organization, we prioritize compassionate, person-centered care and collaboration.
The successful candidate will be responsible for processing medical records requests, responding to customer inquiries, and ensuring the confidentiality of patient information. Responsibilities:
- Organize and respond to requests for medical information, including insurance billing, patient requests, provider requests, and regulatory requests
- Assist with processing medical records requests within time standards set forth by federal and state agencies and hospital policy
- Answer phones in a polite and respectful manner and respond timely and efficiently to medical record requests and customer questions
- Assist practitioners in accessing medical records through the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Coordinate the purging of medical records per the hospital's retention policy
- Analyze records for completeness and electronically assign deficiency tags to clinicians in the EMR
- Organize and review patient's medical records for scanning into the document imaging system
- Retrieve discharges from the medical floors and/or coordinate the receipt of records from departments
- Prepare charts for scanning, organizing records in standardized order
- Ensure all records for the day's discharges or visit are accounted for and follow-up with respective departments if not received
- Scan medical records ensuring every page is properly scanned and viewable
- Qualifications:*
- Two years of Health Information Management/Medical Records experience in Deficiency Analysis/Chart Correction
- Three years of Health Information Management/Medical Records experience
- One year of experience in medical records release of information
- Currently enrolled in or completed a Health Information Management college program
- Medical Terminology
- Previous Medical Records experience in an acute care setting
- Previous experience with EPIC
- Previous subpoena and audit experience
