The University of California, Merced is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience. The full salary range for this position is Step 1: $29.03 - Step 17: $42.34. The hourly range the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is STEP 1: $29.03/hr.

This position follows a hybrid schedule, requiring one day per week in the office.

Under the general supervision of the Director of Operations for the Office of Research and Economic Development (ORED), the Administrative Officer applies broad expertise in administrative operations to support the efficient coordination and execution of ORED's daily activities.
Working in close collaboration with the Director of Operations and Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), the Administrative Officer provides operational support across multiple functional areas, including general administrative practices, procurement, travel coordination, personnel management, recharge administration, equipment oversight, space allocation, website maintenance and development, and event coordination.
In addition, this position serves as a backup to the Executive Assistant to the Vice Chancellor of Research, providing critical administrative and logistical support as needed to ensure continuity of executive operations.
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
