Department Overview

The Electric Transmission and Distribution (T&D) Engineering team oversees electric system engineering and planning, asset strategy, and risk management for transmission, distribution, and substation assets.

This approach enables management of electric risk, asset health, and performance through consistent standards and methods, informed by inspections and data.

The Asset Knowledge Management (AKM) team within this group manages the quality and accessibility of electric asset data, aiming to optimize the use and reliability of critical data.

Position Summary

Electric Mapping leaders handle the management of GIS electric asset registry data, involving the development of mapping standards, training, and process control. This also includes metrics, contractor management, quality assurance, audits, customer inquiries, technical support, and data improvement projects.

Leaders ensure the asset registry data is updated when field facilities are constructed or replaced.

This hybrid role involves working from a remote and assigned location when needed.

Compensation range is based on skills, education, location, and experience:

• Minimum: $108,000
• Maximum: $182,000

Responsibilities

• Oversees the cataloging of electric asset details within a region, managing staff workload and direction.
• Ensures asset data accuracy for applications like franchise tax calculations.
• Ensures receipt and processing of documentation from fieldwork, monitoring job completions.
• Manages mapping updates during land annexations, coordinating with other departments.
• Partners with different teams and stakeholders for asset mapping information.
• Supports department goals and efficiency through process improvements.
• Supports quality assurance and audits to meet regulatory requirements.
• Manages resources and tracks spending against budgets, mainly supervising mapping technicians.
• Maintains a positive relationship with the ESC Union, attending quarterly meetings.

Qualifications

Minimum

• High school diploma or GED
• 5 years of related experience in service planning, construction, mapping, or leadership roles

Desired

• Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Business, or related field
• GIS Professional (GISP) certification
• Professional level ESRI ArcGIS Desktop Certification
