SCHEDULE: FRIDAY - SUNDAY (6:00 AM - 6:30 PM)
Leads and engages production team employees and plans, coordinates and supervises the daily activities of their assigned department(s) on the shift to ensure safe, quality and efficient production. Ensures all tasks performed by the production team are performed in accordance with all safety, quality and company policies and procedures.
Ability to work at both the 391 AND 395 manufacturing facilities in Bloomingdale in Packaging and Processing.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Oversees and monitors day-to-day operation of assigned area(s) including workflow, management of work in process, job assignments, rotations, etc. to insure smooth flow and efficient production.
Participates in the scheduling process including advance production schedule review to communicate issues in a proactive, timely manner for resolution; coordinates and communicates schedule to Leads and employees to assure daily production schedules are met.
Produces and reviews daily production reports for schedule adherence, efficiencies and other data; provide reports and information to manager and other designated personnel as required.
Ensures key performance indicators in the production area are met or exceeded. Measures productivity on a daily basis, with goal of meeting standards.
Collaborates with other departments to obtain supplies, products, equipment and services necessary to meet production schedules.
Works with other supervisors to solve common issues and develop teamwork among all shifts. Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. Monitors product quality and works with Quality to ensure specifications are met. Monitors quality control as needed to determine that all products and packaging are neat, clean, and correctly packed and labeled.
Ensures that policies and procedures for safety and quality are followed and enforced. Actively participates in root cause analysis and other plant continuous improvement initiatives. Recommends continuous improvement ideas.
Supports positive employee relations, fair treatment and respect in all aspects of interaction with employees; address employee concerns/requests in a timely and caring manner; insures all employees and ideas are respected and valued and their unique and diverse perspectives are leveraged to improve business results.
Actively engages in the performance of his/her team through setting objectives and measuring performance, with guidance and coaching from manager. Actively participates in Tier II meetings.

Actively participates in the safety program by engaging in safety activities. Effectively provides and accepts constructive peer-to-peer feedback on safety performance.
Adheres to policies, procedures, SOP’s, safe work practices, and safety policies and procedures (SPP). Reports ALL workplace incidents to manager immediately. Communicates concerns to manager, reports hazards, and provides input on prevention. Properly uses, wears, and stores Personal Protective Equipment when required.
Participates on safety teams and/or completes safety-related activities as part of regular job responsibilities. Responsible for safe work performance in area. Ensures the completion of job safety analyses, safety inspections and employee training. Acts as primary communicator of safe work practices and information to department.
Facilitates employees’ participation in the safety activity card program and on safety teams. Completes incident investigation reports and submits them to manager by end of shift on which the incident is reported. Conducts safety contacts and documents corrective and preventative actions. Enforces company policies, procedures, SOP’s, SPP’s and safe work practices.

The employee is occasionally required to sit at a desk and use the telephone.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Ability to operate hand operated electronic lifting equipment (Interthor).
The employee will occasionally lift, move (in some cases drag items), slide, raise and/or place:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to herbal aromas, dust, and/or airborne particles, some classified as allergens or irritants.
This position works in all areas of NOW’s manufacturing facilities with direct exposure to ingredients (powders and liquids), mixes (powders and liquids), equipment, and packaging.
Frequently exposed to all the FDA designated major food allergens (Milk, Eggs, Fish, Crustacean shellfish (e.g., crab, lobster, shrimp), Tree nuts (e.g., almonds, walnuts, pecans) except for peanuts, Wheat and Soybeans, Sesame.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately loud, and in some areas where louder hearing protection is required.
