The QC Manager plays a vital role in ensuring that all construction projects adhere to established specifications, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines. This position is fundamental to maintaining quality assurance across various heavy civil construction projects, such as earthwork, concrete, utilities, and structural components.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and Implement Quality Plans: Create and maintain a project-specific Quality Management Plan (QMP) detailing standards, procedures, and protocols, ensuring compliance with contract requirements and regulatory standards.
• Conduct Inspections: Perform regular site walks to inspect work during and after construction for adherence to specifications, plans, and safety regulations.
• Document and Report: Maintain comprehensive records of inspections, findings, and corrective measures. Prepare and present reports on quality metrics and progress to senior management and track subcontractor compliance.
• Ensure Compliance: Verify that construction activities, materials, and safety measures comply with industry standards, government regulations, and contract documents.
• Problem Solve: Identify quality issues, conduct root cause analysis, and collaborate with the project team to implement effective corrective actions while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with Teams: Liaise closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and various stakeholders to uphold high-quality standards throughout the duration of the project.
• Promote Safety: Help create a safe work environment by recognizing and addressing potential hazards and ensuring compliance with safety plans.
• Train Staff: Assist in training site personnel concerning quality control policies, procedures, and best practices.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in construction management.
• Five years of experience in quality control or inspection within heavy civil construction (roads, bridges, utilities, earthwork). Design-Build experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with DOT specifications and ASTM standards.

Certifications

• ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician.
• OSHA 30 Hour Certification.
• NICET Certification.

Physical Requirements

• Capacity to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
• Frequent walking, standing, and lifting of up to 50 lbs.
