Payroll/Financial Analyst

Type: Contract - Approximately 6-8 Weeks

Location: Detroit, MI

Schedule: Monday – Friday 100% In Office

Hours: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Compensation

$32/hr - $40/hr

Sanford Rose is seeking a Payroll/Financial Analyst on a CONTRACT basis for a well-established professional services organization in the Detroit area. This opportunity offers the chance to support a dynamic finance team during a critical leave coverage period while gaining exposure to payroll, compensation analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting activities.

This position is ideal for an analytical professional who enjoys working with data, Excel, reporting, and cross-functional finance operations.

Responsibilities

• Support payroll and compensation-related functions and reporting
• Analyze payroll and compensation data to identify trends and variances
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
• Prepare and maintain reports utilizing advanced Excel functions
• Perform reconciliations, data validation, and audit support activities
• Assist with billing, reporting, and administrative finance projects as needed
• Partner with various departments to ensure accurate financial information
• Support ad hoc projects and special assignments during leave coverage

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in payroll, billing, compensation, accounting, finance, or related analytical roles
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills required
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Experience working with financial reports, budgeting, forecasting, or variance analysis preferred
• Prior payroll experience preferred
• Billing experience preferred
• Experience working within a professional services environment is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment
