Paralegal

Paralegal – Class ActionOur client a collaborative close-knit small midsized law firm is seeking a Paralegal to join their growing Class Action Practice.

The Paralegal is responsible for managing class actions caseload while also supporting team development, training, and operational oversight within the department.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication, leadership, and time management skills are essential, as this role works closely with attorneys, legal assistants, junior paralegals, and department leadership.

Responsibilities

• Managing a diverse portfolio of cases, including frequent communication with clients
• Maintaining familiarity with e-filing procedures in relevant courts
• Draft and serve discovery, pleadings, and client communications.
• Assist attorneys with depositions, hearings, and court preparation.
• Maintain accurate reporting and quality control through Litify and related systems.
• Proofreading and redlining work for accuracy of copy, format, grammar, punctuation, and syntax
• Formatting, finalizing, and filing documents, and delivering courtesy copies as needed
• Assist with onboarding, training, staffing recommendations, and team evaluations.
• Communicate proactively with clients, attorneys, and team members regarding case status and next steps.
• Help develop case criteria, reporting processes, and matter management systems.

Qualifications

• Prior experience filing documents in federal and Illinois state court
• Strong attention to detail
• Experience handling high-volume litigation matters.
• Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
• Familiarity with litigation drafting, discovery, and legal case management systems.

Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
