Legal Assistant/Paralegal

The Jones Law Firm, an established family law practice in East Memphis, is hiring a legal assistant or paralegal to support a solo attorney. This is a hands-on role, and the right person keeps the whole practice running.

Schedule: Part-time and flexible. Roughly three days a week in our East Memphis office, with remote phone coverage on the other days. We will set a regular weekly schedule together once you start.

The core of the job: Answering and routing client calls, filing pleadings with Shelby County courts, and compiling and organizing discovery. Organization is the heart of this role. We need someone who keeps files clean, tracks deadlines, and can put their hands on any document the moment it's needed.

What we require: Familiarity with the court filing process is a must. You should already know how to get documents filed, whether by e-filing or in person. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat is required. Strong organizational skills are not optional. A professional, steady phone manner with clients who are often going through a hard time.

Attention to detail and the ability to juggle deadlines without dropping the ball. Family law experience is a strong plus, and experience with PracticePanther will move you to the front of the line.
