Our client, a well-established full-service law firm with offices across Louisiana and Texas, is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Secretary for its New Orleans office. This is a full-time, onsite position supporting attorneys in a fast-paced litigation environment.
The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, experience with court filings, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, proofread, and format legal correspondence, pleadings, memoranda, and engagement letters
- Assist attorneys with preparation and organization of court filings, discovery, and litigation materials
- Handle e-filing in state and federal courts and agencies
- Maintain and organize electronic case files and legal documents within Net
- Docs
- Open new client matters and assist with conflict checks
- Manage attorney calendars, deadlines, and client contacts
- Coordinate travel arrangements, meetings, conference calls, and video conferences
- Prepare presentation and meeting materials as needed
- Provide additional administrative and litigation support as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of litigation legal secretary experience
- Strong proofreading, organization, and multitasking skills
- Experience with state and federal court filing procedures
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Experience using document management systems such as Net
- Docs preferred
- Comfortable with remote collaboration platforms including Zoom, Web
- Ex, Microsoft Teams, and Skype for Business
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail with the ability to work independently and proactively
