Job Title: Legal Secretary, Workers’ Compensation
Reports to: Attorney Team Leader, HR Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Communicate with clients, court counsel, adjusters, medical providers, nurse case managers and others for case management.
- Answer all client phone calls and address all questions and concerns while keeping clients informed of the progress of their case and obtaining status updates.
- Complete all dictation transcriptions from team attorney.
- Prepare and electronically file legal documents.
- Obtain documents from the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation, format and file briefs, and upload correspondence through the Workers’ Compensation Automation and Integration System (WCAIS).
- File and answer petitions in WCAIS.
- Open and enter mail into the case notes, generate all necessary response letters, and manage the checklist within our case management system.
- Answer attorney's direct phone lines and monitor emails; serve as liaison between attorney, clients, and other parties.
- Maintain deadlines appropriately with the use of a checklist system within our case management system.
- Maintain attorney’s event calendar (hearings, meetings, etc.).
Other Responsibilities
- Take new client intakes (after 90 days on the job).
- Process all attorney dictation and action items stemming from the dictation.
- Schedule client appointments and/or telephone conferences
- Maintain client files in case management system, updating information, as necessary.

- Must possess the ability to multi-task, prioritize, handle a fast-paced environment, and manage workload with a positive attitude and minimal supervision.
- Sound business acumen regarding administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as Microsoft Office.
- Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills coupled with attention to detail.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year College or University and/or equivalent work experience
- Experience with WCAIS
- Dictation transcription experience
- At least one year of Workers' Compensation experience is preferred.
- Case management system experience is not required but highly preferred.
- Salary is commensurate with experience*
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
