Job Title: Trucking Compliance Specialist
Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Trucking Compliance Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive knowledge and experience in handling all aspects of trucking compliance, including the establishment of S Corporations, IFTA filings, obtaining trucking permits, DOT compliance, and MCS-150 updates.
The Trucking Compliance Specialist will ensure that our fleet operates in full compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
Responsibilities
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure the company adheres to all federal, state, and local transportation regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations and implement necessary changes within the company.
- IFTA (International Fuel Tax Agreement) Compliance:
- Prepare and file quarterly IFTA reports accurately and on time.
- Maintain detailed records of fuel purchases and mileage for all vehicles.
- Permits and Licensing:
- Obtain and renew all necessary trucking permits and licenses, including oversize/overweight permits.
- Ensure all vehicles are properly registered and have current permits.
- DOT Compliance:
- Manage DOT compliance, including maintaining driver qualification files and conducting regular audits.
- Ensure that all drivers and vehicles meet DOT standards.
- MCS-150 Updates:
- File and update MCS-150 forms as required by the FMCSA.
- Keep accurate records of all updates and changes to company operations.
- Safety and Record Keeping:
- Develop and implement safety protocols and training programs for drivers.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all compliance-related activities and audits.
- Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all compliance-related inquiries.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments, drivers, and regulatory agencies.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1-2years of experience in trucking compliance and regulatory affairs.
- In-depth knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, IFTA, and other relevant regulations.
- Experience in forming and managing S Corporations.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Proficient in using compliance management software and MS Office Suite.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
