Greet and welcome patients to the Day Surgery department, ensuring they feel comfortable and at ease.
Assist patients with pre-operative preparations, including taking vital signs, collecting medical history, and answering any questions or concerns.
Prepare and maintain surgical rooms, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are readily available.
Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure smooth and efficient patient flow during procedures.
Administer medications and assist with anesthesia administration under the direction of a physician.
Monitor patients during surgery, including vital signs, blood loss, and other relevant parameters, and report any changes or concerns to the surgical team.
Provide post-operative care, including wound care, dressing changes, and patient education on self-care and medication management.
Document all patient care activities accurately and timely in electronic medical records.
Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe environment in the surgical area.
Maintain inventory of medical supplies and equipment, ensuring they are well-stocked and properly maintained.
Communicate with patients and their families in a compassionate and professional manner, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care.
Uphold the organization's standards of conduct and ethical practices at all times.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance job knowledge and skills.
Comply with all state and federal regulations and guidelines related to patient care and safety.
