Under general supervision, performs basic customer service functions to assist Parks and Recreation customers; greeting facility guests, assisting with program registrations, processing facility rentals and answering questions about recreation classes, rental facilities, and events; collecting fees and providing receipts for classes and drop-in use and monitoring facility use to include securing building during evening and weekend shifts.
Edmonds Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services department serves as the community's key resource for providing parks, recreation and aquatic programs, culture arts tourism, economic development and enhanced quality of life for its citizens.
There are more than 62 sites including 31 active parks that encompass over 325 acres, 20,000 square feet of flower beds and more than 3,000 feet of waterfront shoreline in the Edmonds Parks System which is maintained by Edmonds Parks Maintenance.
About The CityThe City of Edmonds is a beautiful community on the Puget Sound waterfront with a population of 43,510 (MRSC_2025) and is the gateway to the Olympic peninsula via the state ferry system.
Edmonds provides a full range of services, including contracted fire services, police services a municipal court, a community pool, a regional performing arts facility, public works and utilities, a regional wastewater treatment facility, along with community events and services through our Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Services Department.
Six department directors report directly to the Mayor and oversee approximately 264 full–time-equivalent employees.
Examples of Duties
High School Diploma/GED Certificate and one year of office clerical experience that includes extensive public contact. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience which allows the incumbent to successfully perform the essential functions of the position may also be considered.
Required Licenses Or CertificationsA criminal background check is required following a verbal offer of employment. Criminal history is not an automatic employment disqualifier. Results are reviewed on a case-by case basis.
