Position Overview

This dynamic role is perfect for a polished, highly organized, and personable professional who thrives in a fast-paced, upscale Manhattan setting. You will serve as the welcoming first point of contact while handling treatment coordination and key administrative tasks.

This position offers a clear path to Practice Manager for the right candidate who demonstrates leadership, initiative, and commitment to operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Receptionist Duties: Greet patients with warmth and professionalism, manage the front desk, handle multi-line phones, schedule appointments, and maintain an inviting reception area.
• Treatment Coordination: Present treatment plans (including cosmetic and implant cases), explain fees and financing options, secure patient commitments, coordinate with the clinical team, and ensure smooth case acceptance and follow-up.
• Administrative Support: Verify insurance benefits, process claims, manage patient records in the PMS/EHR system, handle recalls, outstanding balances, and assist with billing/collections.
• Office Operations: Support daily huddles, maintain schedules, contribute to a positive team environment, and help with supply ordering as needed.
• Leadership Growth: Participate in process improvements and gradually take on managerial responsibilities such as staff oversight, training, and practice performance metrics.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a dental (or medical) front office role strongly preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills — polished, articulate, and genuinely warm with patients.
• Proficiency with dental practice management software (Dentrix, Open Dental, or similar preferred).
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a high-volume practice.
• Knowledge of dental terminology, insurance verification, and treatment plan presentation (cosmetic/implant experience a plus).
• Professional appearance and demeanor fitting for a luxury Madison Avenue practice.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree or dental administration certification a plus.
• Multilingual abilities (Spanish) are a strong plus.
