Oversee and manage all accounting functions for Atlantic County, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all regulations.

Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

Monitor and maintain financial records, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Review and reconcile bank statements and other financial documents.

Collaborate with other departments to ensure proper allocation and tracking of expenses.

Provide financial analysis and advice to department heads and county officials.

Assist with budget preparation and monitor budgetary performance.

Train and supervise junior accounting staff members.

Stay updated on relevant accounting laws and regulations and ensure compliance.

Identify and address any discrepancies or irregularities in financial records.

Prepare and submit required financial reports to government agencies and auditors.

Communicate with external parties, such as vendors, auditors, and government agencies.

Participate in meetings and conferences to discuss financial performance and provide recommendations for improvement.
