Bookkeeper (Construction Accounting)

We are partnering with a well-established construction company to find a detail-oriented Bookkeeper (Construction Accounting) to join their team. This is a great opportunity for someone with construction industry accounting experience who thrives in a fast-paced, project-driven environment and enjoys managing multiple priorities.

Position: Bookkeeper Location: Chicago, IL (60155) Employment Type: Direct Hire Pay: $65,000 – $75,000

Responsibilities

• Prepare AIA pay applications and manage accounts receivable invoicing, including waivers, sworn statements, and subcontractor/supplier documentation Process contract work including AIA contracts and change orders Maintain accurate job costing across all active projects Handle permit procurement and coordination for contract work Manage warranty documentation and processing Provide general administrative and office support to ensure smooth daily operations

Required Experience

Experience in construction accounting or construction office administration required Experience in any of the following:

Accounts receivable and/or accounts payable Purchasing or vendor management Construction documents (AIA billing, waivers, sworn statements, contracts, change orders) Job costing or project-based accounting General accounting functions General
