Junior Accountant

Position Summary

We’re seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to support day-to-day accounting and administrative functions in a CPA office. This role is ideal for someone early in their accounting career who wants hands-on experience with bookkeeping, payroll support, tax-season preparation, and client communications in a professional office environment.

Key Responsibilities

Enter and categorize transactions (QuickBooks Online and/or similar software)

Assist with monthly bookkeeping: bank/credit card reconciliations and tie-outs

Prepare and organize workpapers for tax preparation and financial reporting

Support accounts payable/receivable tasks (invoicing, payments, follow-ups)

Help maintain clean client files and documentation (digital + physical)

Assist with payroll processing support and basic reporting

Communicate with clients to request missing documents and follow up on items

Perform data entry, scanning, organizing, and other office support tasks

Maintain confidentiality and follow firm procedures and deadlines

Required Qualifications

0–2 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience or relevant internship/coursework

Basic understanding of accounting principles (debits/credits, reconciliations)

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow processes

Comfortable with email, spreadsheets, and learning new software

Reliable, professional communication and punctuality

Able to work in-office full time

Preferred Qualifications

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree (or in progress) in Accounting/Finance

QuickBooks Online experience

Prior experience in a CPA firm or tax office

Intermediate Excel/Google Sheets skills (filters, pivots a plus)
