DEFINITION: Under general direction of the Principle Accountant, the manager of the Fiscal Accounting Department, the Account Clerk performs a variety of accounting work; and performs related duties as assigned.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS: Incumbents in the Account Clerk series perform above average financial and statistical recordkeeping/bookkeeping tasks involving the use of independent judgement, accuracy, and the ability to meet deadlines; general clerical work, however, the majority of time is involved with accounting tasks.REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: The information below is meant to serve as samples of essential job functions and responsibilities for this classification.

Level III: Graduation from High School or G.E.D equivalent.
Level III: One (1) year of full-time accounting experience.
AND
Other: 1. Excel spreadsheet experience.
AND
License: Possession of valid Class “C” California Driver’s License may be required.EXPECTED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
