Title: Registered Nurse GI Lab
Duration: 8 weeks (possible extension)
Shift:Day 5x8-Hour (08:00 - 16:30)
Location: Modesto, CA 95355
Experience
- Proven experience as a registered nurse in a hospital or outpatient setting with exposure to GI labs or endoscopy units.
- Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, PALS
- Critical care experience preferred, including ICU or emergency room settings with acute pain management skills.
- Familiarity with advanced procedures such as catheterization, tube feeding management, or ostomy care is advantageous.
- Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for documentation purposes.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, and individuals with developmental disabilities or memory care needs.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to gastroenterology and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
Duties
- Prepare patients for GI procedures by explaining processes, obtaining informed consent, and conducting thorough assessments including vital signs and medical history review.
- Assist physicians during endoscopic procedures, ensuring proper equipment setup, sterile technique, and patient safety protocols.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and physiological responses throughout procedures, providing immediate intervention as needed.
- Administer medications such as sedation or Botulinum toxin treatments under physician supervision, adhering strictly to dosing guidelines and safety protocols.
