Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) to provide perioperative nursing care in a surgical services environment. The ideal candidate will be skilled in both circulating and scrubbing roles and possess experience supporting a variety of surgical procedures, including orthopedic and robotic surgeries.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing surgical procedures.
- Perform circulating and scrub nurse duties in the operating room.
- Conduct preoperative assessments and verify patient readiness for surgery.
- Ensure accurate documentation of patient care, surgical interventions, and outcomes.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical team members to ensure safe and efficient procedures.
- Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to infection prevention standards.
- Monitor patient safety throughout the perioperative process.
- Participate in patient positioning, equipment preparation, and procedural support.
- Evaluate patient responses to treatment and update care plans as needed.
- Delegate and supervise assigned support personnel in accordance with scope of practice.
Requirements
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of Operating Room nursing experience required.
- Experience in both scrubbing and circulating roles required.
- Experience with orthopedic surgical procedures required.
- Experience with robotic surgical procedures required.
- Previous perioperative nursing experience preferred.
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Licensure & Certifications
- Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License or Compact RN License required.
- BLS (AHA) Certification required.
- CNOR Certification preferred.
- ACLS Certification preferred.
- PALS Certification preferred.
Skills & Qualifications
- Operating Room circulation and scrubbing.
- Orthopedic surgery experience.
- Robotic surgery experience.
- Sterile technique and surgical asepsis.
- Perioperative patient assessment and monitoring.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
