Registered Nurse (RN)Location: Fresh Meadows, NY (Queens)Hours/Days: 4/10 hour days, Mon,Tue,Thu,& Fri 8a-6p (RDO Wednesday)Organization: New York Cancer & Blood Specialists (NYCBS)In This Role, You WillAdminister chemotherapeutic and biologic agents, as well as supportive care medications as prescribed by a physicianRecognize and treat cancer-related and treatment-related issues.
Monitor patient status during the administration of chemotherapy, immunotherapy and supportive medications.
Chart the patient’s response to treatment and medication.
Educate patients and caregivers about follow up care and emergency servicesWe RequireValid New York State RN LicenseBasic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
Excellent assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
Proficiency with an EMR (preferred)Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer, standing, bending and reachingKnowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate PPE when administering cytotoxic agents and handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluidsMust be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
Reliable transportation to travel to NYCBS locations for patient care needs
Salary: Starting at $52 per hour
