Responsibilities
- Provide direct obstetric nursing care to patients, including assessments and monitoring.
- Perform and document routine obstetric procedures within scope and guidelines.
- Monitor fetal well-being and respond to emergencies with appropriate interventions.
- Ensure adherence to infection control, safety protocols, and regulatory standards.
- Assist in labor and delivery as per scope, including support during cesarean or vaginal births.
- Collaborate with obstetric team to develop patient-centered care plans.
- Track and report patient outcomes to support performance metrics and targets.
- Document nursing care and interventions accurately in electronic health records.
- Educate patients and families on pregnancy care, labor, and postpartum expectations.
- Utilize clinical data and pipelines to identify high-potential cases and escalate appropriately.
- Demonstrate ongoing professional development and participate in skill-building opportunities.
- Experience/
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse with current OB/GYN specialty license and BLS/ACLS certification.
- Proven obstetric assessment, monitoring, and routine procedures experience.
- Fetal monitoring, interpretation, and emergency response capabilities.
- Labor and delivery assistance including C-section and vaginal birth support.
- Infection control, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance adherence.
- Accurate documentation in electronic health records and care plans.
- Patient and family education on pregnancy, labor, and postpartum care.
- Data-driven care with use of clinical data to identify high-potential cases.
- Team collaboration with obstetricians and nurses to develop patient-centered plans.
- Continuous professional development and participation in skill-building opportunities.
