Oversee and manage the daily operations of the inpatient nursing department.
Ensure that nursing services meet and exceed quality standards set by Sutter Health.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
Manage and mentor a team of nurses, providing guidance and support to ensure high levels of performance and job satisfaction.
Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback and coaching to nursing staff.
Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve patient care and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Monitor and manage department budgets, including staffing and supply needs.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, seeking out and implementing innovative solutions to enhance patient care.
Act as a liaison between nursing staff, patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective communication and coordination of care.
Stay up-to-date on industry trends and advancements in nursing practices to continuously improve the department's operations and patient outcomes.
Collaborate with HR to recruit, hire, and train new nursing staff.
Serve as a role model for ethical and professional conduct, promoting a positive and respectful work environment.
Handle any conflicts or issues within the nursing team, addressing and resolving them in a timely and effective manner.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards related to nursing services.
Act as an advocate for patients and their families, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed and resolved in a timely and compassionate manner.
