Awaken Christian Academy is looking for Substitute Teachers to join our team.

POSITION SUMMARY

• This is an on-call, as-needed position, substituting in the absence of a regular ACA employee

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Experience

• Teaching experience is preferred, but as a minimum, experience working with children in a structured setting

KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS / ABILITIES (KSAs)

• Must have a heart for the mission and a drive of Awaken Christian Academy/Awaken Las Vegas
• Must be dependable, hardworking, innovative, and capable of working independently
• Excellent people skills
• Must be team-oriented: willing to follow, support, and collaborate with team members
• Ability to learn and work quickly, efficiently, with attention to detail
• Must be flexible; able to focus on what needs to happen to reach the goal
• Be optimistic; see the best in others and be able to deal with problems from a solutions orientation
• Presentation skills, to speak in front of others in an engaging and motivating way
• Ability to take the lead or work in a supportive role; work well under the leadership of others
• Not be easily offended
• Must be able to act in accordance with established guidelines
• Must be able to follow standard procedures in crises situations

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Follow teacher lesson plans to the best of your ability
• Utilize prepared materials for class activities
• Submit attendance and any behavior reports as needed
• Enforce rules for behavior and procedures, maintaining order in the classroom
• Communicate any questions or concerns to the administration
• Enforce administration policies and rules governing students
• Additional duties as assigned.
