Position Overview
Are you an experienced logistics professional looking for an exciting new opportunity?
We are seeking a talented and motivated Logistics Manager to join our dynamic team at a leading food distribution warehouse in Reseville, CA. Compensation: $75-$80K. In this role, you will provide functional guidance to employees in planning and supporting operations while ensuring compliance with applicable laws, government regulations, and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide transportation guidance and manage workflow/task execution on-site.
- Implement and ensure compliance with Logistics Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and company policies.
- Process customer load quote requests through the system, ensuring accurate and timely responses.
- Train and supervise Dispatch Agents for optimal carrier selection, communication, and customer satisfaction.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for carriers, fostering relationships and maintaining a registry of qualified carrier companies.
- Negotiate rates and terms to efficiently move cargo and monitor carrier performance through detailed documentation.
- Troubleshoot shipment issues and step in during emergencies or staffing concerns, including 24/7 on-call responsibilities.
- Evaluate employee performance, lead by example, and foster a positive work environment.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to work flexible hours including graveyard shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
- Proven leadership with experience in coaching, counseling, and conflict resolution.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills with proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
- At least 5 years of experience in transportation or logistics, including 2+ years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Understanding of DOT rules, vehicle weight capacity, and load specifications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of management.
- Physical capacity to lift up to 30 pounds, work for extended periods (standing or sitting), and navigate a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with TruckMate, PC Miler, Fleetmatics, and RoadNet.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
