Restaurant General Manager - Greater Memphis area

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced General Manager to oversee our food service operations and lead our team for a restaurant group with multiple locations. The General Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the restaurant for one location, including team management, food handling, and customer service.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional hospitality.

Duties

• Manage and lead a team of employees, including hiring, training, and scheduling
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations
• Oversee food preparation and ensure high-quality standards are met
• Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
• Work with existing managerial staff from other locations and corporate office to help implement existing company policies.
• Handle customer inquiries and complaints in a professional manner
• Collaborate with the kitchen manager to create and execute catering events
• Conduct interviews and make hiring decisions for new team members
• Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for staff members

Skills

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
• Extensive knowledge of the food industry, including food handling and safety protocols
• Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with customers, employees, and vendors.

-Competent with POS System.

-Effectively communicate, developing a rapport with guests to increase intent to return

• Experience in food service management, including inventory control and cost management
• Proven ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities effectively
• Strong problem-solving skills to address issues that may arise in a fast-paced environment
• Proficient in interviewing techniques to identify top talent for the team
• Knowledge of catering operations and experience in planning successful events
• Previous experience as an assistant manager or similar role is preferred
• Culinary background or experience as a cook is a plus
