About the Role
As a Lead Technical Operations Manager, you will serve as the primary bridge between R&D, manufacturing, and sales to drive innovation in flexible packaging solutions. You will lead a high-performing team to optimize production processes, ensure regulatory compliance, and spearhead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Direct and mentor a technical team of engineers, fostering a culture of accountability and professional growth.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for resin selection, film extrusion, and downstream converting processes.
- Execute root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to resolve complex production bottlenecks.
- Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of new product introductions, from initial material validation to full-scale commercialization.
- Drive facility-wide continuous improvement programs to minimize waste, improve consistency, and boost output.
- Ensure all operations strictly adhere to FDA, SQF, and ISO quality management standards.
- Partner with maintenance and engineering teams to upgrade equipment reliability and optimize process performance.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Polymer, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering, or Packaging Science.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in flexible packaging manufacturing, specifically in extrusion or converting.
- Demonstrated success in leading technical teams within a high-volume production environment.
- Advanced proficiency in data-driven problem solving and ERP systems.
- Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts to cross-functional stakeholders.
Preferred Skills
- Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification.
- Deep technical expertise in laminating adhesives and printing technologies.
- Experience with CAD software and advanced process control systems.
