HPC Industrial Powered by Clean Harbors is seeking an Industrial Services Operations/ Engineering Manager to join our team and lead compliance programs for water treatment processes and engineering within the National Water Services group.
This role focuses on ensuring federal, state, and local environmental regulations are met and that a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment is provided in compliance with client and HPC Industrial policies and procedures.
We offer competitive wages of $95,000 - $130,000 and comprehensive health benefits coverage after 30 days of full-time employment. You will lead and assist in the development of new and improved treatment processes and support direct sales and operations in designing process flow, consumable usage, and equipment layout for water treatment projects.
As an integral part of the sales and operations team and leader of the engineering group, you will analyze operating procedures and field data to optimize treatment processes, act as a Subject Matter Expert for GAC, Resin, reverse osmosis and deionization and high purity applications, and, as needed, assist in on-site operations performing tests and recording performance values throughout water treatment systems.
The role requires the ability to apply principles of chemical engineering to client problems, to work with local operations to improve and manage environmental and safety procedures and practices, and to develop process improvements while identifying required chemicals, parts, and equipment to achieve project goals.
You will also develop technical project summaries for client and marketing use, support the development of standard operating procedures, assist in client-facing sales activities, and provide technical support to EH&S initiatives. Participation in safety, environmental, and team meetings/programs is expected, as is performing work practices that positively impact Safety and Environmental performance.
Candidates must have 5+ years’ experience in water treatment or a related field. A BS Chemical Engineering or a related engineering field such as Mechanical or Environmental is required. Candidates must have experience working with process water treatment in refineries, chemical plants or power plants. Advanced water treatment process training or certification is listed as a plus.
Technical skills and knowledge required include proficiency with CAD Drawings, Google Earth, Adobe, and Microsoft Office. You should have strong environmental regulatory knowledge, the ability to effectively apply engineering knowledge, and the ability to interpret plans, prints, and graphs.
Knowledge of standard process equipment and maintenance, the ability to interpret lab data/analytical and treatability studies, and the ability to utilize testing equipment to make process changes are also required. Candidates must be literate in English (ability to read and write English), be able to communicate and work with others, read and communicate instructions, and complete assigned tasks independently.
The role requires the ability to work both indoors and outdoors and to travel to sites as needed.
