A confidential Los Angeles-based boutique law firm is seeking a mid-level Real Estate Associate to support a busy transactional practice handling sophisticated commercial real estate deals.
This opportunity is ideal for an attorney who enjoys drafting and negotiating core real estate documents, running deals with meaningful autonomy, and building strong client relationships while also gaining exposure to capital markets style real estate work.

THE ROLE
- Draft, review, and negotiate purchase and sale agreements for commercial real estate transactions
- Draft, review, and negotiate loan documentation and related financing materials
- Support and, as appropriate, lead joint venture and other equity-related real estate arrangements
- Coordinate transaction workflows with partners and paralegals, including timelines, diligence, and closing deliverables
- Communicate directly with clients and counterparties to drive transactions forward efficiently

Hybrid, in office 3 days per week
Compensation
Base salary range: $225,000 to $275,000 per year
REQUIREMENTS
- 4-7 years of real estate transactional experience, including purchase and sale agreements and financing documentation
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
- Active California Bar admission in good standing
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills with careful attention to detail
- Ability to manage transactions from term sheet through closing, including coordinating internal and external stakeholders
- Professional communication skills and a client-service mindset
PREFERRED BACKGROUND
- Experience drafting joint venture operating agreements
- Experience with syndication agreements and preferred equity agreements
- Exposure to capital markets style real estate transactions
- Experience across multifamily, industrial, and commercial real estate matters
- Familiarity with joint venture structures and TIC agreements
- Large law firm experience
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- Annual billable-hour requirement: 1,800
- Dedicated business development budget: $2,500 annually
