Full Time Retail Assistant - The British Museum- DBS certificate holder

Artisan People, Recruiting Agency is hiring staff for The British Museum for the position of Retail Assistant across the retail departments in the Museum.

Job Description

• Assisting/ serving customers inside the shops with their purchases
• General cleaning duties in the shop
• Taking cash and card payments on a EPOS till system
• Restocking the displays
• Providing information about the exhibitions and the museum

Person Specification

• DBS Holder ( paper certificate no older than 5 years )
• Excellent customer service skills
• Good with numbers
• Works well as a team
• Hard-working
• Able to work under pressure
• Positive attitude
• Previous retail experience is crucial

Working hours will be across weekdays and weekends

Full time candidates

Sat-Thurs 9.45-17.30 with 1 hour unpaid lunch (6.75 hours) or 10.00-17.45 with 1 hour unpaid lunch (6.75 hours) or 11.00-18.45 with 1 hour unpaid lunch (6.75 hours).

Fri 9.45-17.30 with 1 hour unpaid lunch (6.75 hours) or 11.00-18.45 with 1 hour unpaid lunch (6.75 hours) or 13.00-20.45 with 1 hour unpaid lunch (6.75 hours) or 10.00-20.45 with 1 hour unpaid lunch and 30 minute paid break (9.75 hours).

One weekend off per month.

Some weekends required ( full weekend off every 4 weeks)

Candidates will be provided with additional information regarding shift pattern if their application is successful.
