Senior Accountant (Semi-Qualified CA / ACCA)

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant (Semi-Qualified CA / ACCA) with a strong background in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial reporting, month-end and year-end book closures, project accounting, budgeting, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage complete accounting operations, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Fixed Assets.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities.
- Prepare accurate financial statements, management reports, and MIS reports.
- Perform month-end and year-end book closure activities within stipulated timelines.
- Monitor project costs, revenue recognition, and construction-related financial transactions.
- Reconcile bank accounts, intercompany balances, and ledger accounts.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Coordinate with external auditors and support statutory audit requirements.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, VAT regulations, and company financial policies.
- Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations to management.
- Review subcontractor payments, project expenditures, and cost allocations.
- Support management in strategic financial planning and decision-making.
Requirements
- Semi-Qualified CA, ACCA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
- Minimum 10 years of accounting experience, with significant exposure to the construction industry.
- Proven experience in month-end and year-end book closing.
- Strong understanding of project accounting, job costing, and construction finance.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced MS Excel.
- Sound knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting, and UAE VAT regulations.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with construction, fit-out, contracting, or infrastructure companies in the UAE.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.
