Summary
The Floor Director leads and mentors the selling team to deliver an exceptional client experience on the sales floor. This role oversees Métier merchandising, driving sales performance and executing buying and visual standards while partnering closely with the Managing Director and merchant teams.
The position includes P&L and budget responsibility and represents store leadership in the absence of the Managing Director.
Responsibilities
- Provide day to day supervision, coaching, mentoring, and training of the selling team with consistent floor presence.
- Manage Métier merchandising and visual standards for assigned floors and identify daily stock needs.
- Prepare for and attend bi-annual podium buys for areas of responsibility and support buying decisions.
- Analyze sales performance by group and by Sales Associate and present weekly leadership updates.
- Design contests and measurable selling campaigns to drive incremental business improvement.
- Conduct monthly individual productivity meetings, write and deliver performance appraisals, and address performance issues.
- Oversee inventory preparation, cycle counts, and partner with operations to reconcile discrepancies; uphold shrinkage and loss prevention goals.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years prior store management experience or flagship Assistant Store Manager experience.
- Prior buying experience relevant to floor responsibility and experience reporting to executive management and merchant levels.
- Proven ability to manage multi-person teams, lead projects, and motivate staff.
- Strong analytical skills, comfortable with calculations, Excel and Microsoft Office; presentation experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree preferred; knowledge of French is helpful.
- Ability to manage stress, multitask, make effective decisions, and travel 3-5 weeks annually to Paris.
