The Group Supervisor will work to provide the opportunity for JFY youth to ameliorate criminogenic needs and gain /learn life skills through groups as well as coaching and direct interaction in the milieu. The Group Supervisor will also provide opportunities for youth to exercise, socialize and share common interests with peers through organized recreational and cultural activities.
The work requires the application of specialized skills, training and planning to meet the needs of the youth being served. The Group Supervisor monitors check-ins, engages the youth in group process throughout the day and leads five skills group each week at a regularly scheduled time. The Group Supervisor provides updates on each youth’s progress in the milieu during treatment team.

The Group Supervisor will be based out of their assigned residential facility and be solely responsible for youth and activities from that program. This position will mainly be in the residential setting at their assigned facility. There will be no assigned work from home days with this position.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time 35 hour per week position. Daily schedule and hours will fluctuate to meet the needs of the youth and daily programming activities. The Group Supervisor will be responsible for maintaining their own schedule appropriate to the needs of the program and youth served, which include day, evening and occasional weekend hours.
Travel (if required): The Group Supervisor will be required to travel, navigate NYC/surrounding neighborhood roads/public transportation system, and complete team member contacts in JYF facilities, and their service providers locations. The Group Supervisor will provide their own transportation and work-related travel expenses will be reimbursed.
Must be able to pass the Safe Crisis Management (SCM) training.
