Workshop Supervisor

Title: Workshop SupervisorReports to: Director of Vocational Rehabilitation Services Salary: $38,000Employment Status: Full-time, non-exempt

The Role

Under the direct supervision of the Manager of Custom Production Services, the Workshop Supervisor and Backup Driver will play a crucial role in training and supporting individuals with disabilities who perform production work. This is a full-time position that combines supervisory responsibilities with occasional driving duties. All offers are contingent on a successful background check and clean driving record.

Essential Functions

• Trains program participants with disabilities in the performance of work activities.
• Provides overall supervision to participant floor workers.
• Back-up driver making deliveries to customers as needed using agency box truck
• Observes and evaluates participants’ work daily and performs quality control of completed work.
• Develops suitable techniques to help resolve difficulties manifested by participants on the job.
• Consults with the JVS Counselors about participants who are experiencing problems related to the performance of their work and makes periodic reports to the Counselors.
• Submits comments on quarterly participant reports relating to observed work activities and behaviors.
• Assists with maintaining payroll and attendance records on participants as needed.
• Assists in developing and implementing work-related downtime activities.
• Assists with overall building maintenance tasks as requested.
• Performs other duties not calling for materially different skills.
• Preferred Qualifications & Experience High School Diploma or GED. Experience in providing services to people who have disabilities is a plus.
• Microsoft Office experience
• Experience driving a non-cdl box truck is a plus
