About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Logistics Executive to coordinate and manage domestic and international courier shipments through DHL. The ideal candidate should have experience in shipment booking, documentation, tracking, customer coordination, and customs-related processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Shipment Booking & Coordination
- Create and process shipment bookings through DHL shipping platforms and portals.
- Schedule courier pickups and coordinate dispatch timelines.
- Select appropriate DHL services based on shipment urgency, destination, weight, and cost requirements.
- Verify shipment details before booking, including consignee information, package dimensions, and declared value.
- Documentation Management
- Prepare and review shipping documentation, including:
- Air Waybills (AWB)
- Commercial Invoices
- Packing Lists
- Export/Import Documents
- Customs Declarations
- Ensure compliance with DHL and destination-country requirements.
- Shipment Tracking & Monitoring
- Monitor shipments from pickup through final delivery.
- Track consignments using DHL tracking systems.
- Coordinate resolution of delays, exceptions, and customs-related issues.
- Provide shipment updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Customer & Internal Communication
- Liaise with DHL representatives regarding bookings, service issues, claims, and delivery performance.
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding shipment status and delivery schedules.
- Coordinate with sales, warehouse, procurement, and finance teams.
- Customs & Compliance Support
- Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations and customs requirements.
- Verify restricted or prohibited items before shipment.
- Assist with customs clearance coordination when required.
- Cost Control & Reporting
- Maintain records of courier expenses and shipment volumes.
- Verify DHL invoices against shipment records.
- Support cost-saving initiatives and service improvements.
- Prepare periodic shipment and performance reports.
- Record Keeping & Issue Resolution
- Maintain accurate shipment records and filing systems.
- Update ERP or logistics systems with shipment and tracking information.
- Handle shipment delays, lost packages, damage claims, and delivery discrepancies.
Requirements
- Experience in DHL courier operations, freight forwarding, logistics coordination, or shipping documentation.
- Understanding of international shipping procedures and customs documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/logistics systems.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Currently based in the UAE.Available to join immediately or within a short notice period.
