Summary or PurposeOperate and maintain the water utility system, which consists of four system types – Water Treatment, Water Distribution, Wastewater Treatment and Wastewater Collection and professional and courteous demeanor is expected in interaction with customers and regulatory agency personnel.
High school diploma, or G.E.D/or, a combination of 12 years of education and related work experience.
Required to obtain Incident Command System (IS) 100, IS 200, IS 700 and IS 800;Required to obtain CPR, AED and Basic First Aid Certifications;This is a career ladder position the incumbent must obtain certification as required by ADEC within timeperiods specified in the attached chart.
For each certification received, the incumbent will receive payincreases for operator certifications obtained based on the attached schedule. The inability to obtain therequired operator certifications may result in loss of employment. If the incumbent fails to renewcertifications as required, the ADEC will consider expired certificates as not valid therefore theincumbent’s rate of pay will be adjusted accordingly.
Environmental Factors And ConditionsAs described above, this job requires working with close proximity to raw sewage and wastewater andoccasional unintentional contact with raw sewage is possible. While Hepatitis B vaccinations are notrequired by OSHA regulations, they are required for this position by the Borough unless specificallywaived in writing by the employee.
A vaccination waiver form must be signed by any employee whochooses not to be vaccinated. Vaccination(s) for employees are provided at no cost to the employee. This is a career ladder position.
