Position Details

• Start Date: Immediate, upon completion of recruitment and onboarding
• Location: 100% remote — must be based in South Africa
• Students: Young learners aged 4-16, based in China, proficiency A1-C1
• Class Type: One-on-one and one-on-two (max two learners per class)
• Language of Instruction: English
• Platform: ClassIn
• Rate: US$6.50 per hour
• Class Duration: 25 minutes (regular); 21-25 minutes (demo)
• Contract Type: Independent Contractor (remote)
• Hours: Minimum 14 hours per week, within the teaching window of 12:00-15:30 SAST (18:00-21:30 BJT), Monday to Sunday. You decide how to spread your hours — up to a maximum of six days a week
• Bookings: Hours run on student bookings rather than fixed guaranteed hours. Reliable teachers with regular students tend to build steady, recurring schedules

Requirements

• Completed National Diploma (tertiary) in any field
• Accredited 120-hour TEFL, TESOL, CELTA or equivalent certification
• Minimum 1 year of teaching experience
• Clear, effective spoken English
• A consistent weekly availability you can genuinely commit to — this client values a stable schedule, not week-to-week chopping and changing

• Computer: Intel® Core™ i5 or higher, 8GB RAM minimum
• Internet: Fibre connection, 20 Mbps up/down via LAN cable
• Backup Power: UPS with 4-5 hours battery life
• Audio/Video: Noise-cancelling headset and HD webcam
