The implementation of Modern Enterprise Resource Planning (MERP) is a critical step in the organisation’s transformation journey, moving from outdated ECC6 technology to a new digitally enabled lean core platform, SAP S/4HANA, and its wider application ecosystem. As a business-led, group-wide transformation effort, MERP requires a strong team that can bridge both business and technology landscapes.

From contract to cash, every aspect of operations will benefit from this modernisation, creating a digital foundation that supports ongoing transformation. The organisation is looking to deploy a modern ERP as its core platform, supported by best-of-breed and best-of-suite technologies across processes.

As the Reporting and Analytics Product Owner, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of work items supporting Move & Sell Commercial Reports and Analytics applications across enterprise platforms and solutions.

Key subject areas include deal and contract management, order administration, transportation management, deliveries and shipments, invoicing, billing and receivables, underpinned by pricing, credit management, customer, product and logistics master data.

This role is accountable for shaping and delivering the future-state reporting landscape for the Move & Sell workstream within the Modern ERP programme. You will provide subject matter expertise across reporting and analytics, ensuring reporting solutions are aligned with standardised processes, data governance principles and clean-core objectives.

You will work closely with business stakeholders, GPOs, stewards and custodians, Project Business Improvement Leads, delivery managers, system integrators, MERP technical teams and the Commercial Digital Data Management team to prioritise reporting demands, manage remediation and new-build initiatives, and reduce duplication and bespoke reporting.

The scope of the role includes native and custom SAP reports, Enterprise Governed Reporting applications, BW/4HANA, selected governed reporting datasets in Power BI, and other governed reporting tools and platforms.

Reporting to the Modern ERP Move & Sell GPO Workstream Lead, and acting as the design and decision authority for Move & Sell reporting within agreed governance guardrails, you will own and prioritise the Move & Sell reporting backlog, covering remediation and new reporting requirements.

You will apply disciplined governance, quality assurance and design controls across reporting deliverables within Modern ERP, define reporting scope across delivery teams, and conduct inventory and impact assessments across SAP, EGRP, BW/4HANA and selected Power BI landscapes.

You will also support the industrialisation of digital data reporting and end-user citizen development through governed reporting frameworks, while championing simplification and standardisation across reporting solutions. In partnership with delivery managers, architects and technical teams, you will translate business reporting needs into scalable and governed solutions.

This includes overseeing and quality-assuring reporting remediation activities across BW/4HANA modelled and data remediation, SAP data load and reconciliation support, selected Power BI dataset and report remediation, and the retrofit of critical reports into the Modern ERP landscape. You will ensure end-to-end traceability from business requirements through to SIT, UAT and cutover readiness.

Working closely with the GPO Data Lead, Process and Data Stewards, and Custodian teams, you will help ensure MERP data simplification objectives are successfully executed during the SAP S/4HANA upgrade. You will support the adoption of MERP real-time reporting capabilities and minimise custom development and workarounds to meet user needs.

You will also lead change management efforts to ensure smooth adoption of new and revised SAP S/4HANA data products, while supporting training and change activities to increase adoption of standard reporting and self-service analytics.

As part of project oversight and quality assurance, you will work closely with the PMO, Workstream Lead, Process Leads and Data Leads to ensure SAP S/4HANA implementation requirements are delivered on time.

You will review and endorse project documentation to support the development of MERP functional design specifications, ensuring data design follows best practices and clean-core principles while minimising customisations and maintaining system flexibility for future enhancements. You will also monitor key project metrics and KPIs to ensure process performance aligns with targets.

You will be expected to identify and actively support the PMO and Workstream Lead in managing risks and issues related to process design, providing mitigation strategies where required. This includes supporting mitigation strategies for risks associated with process redesign, data migration and system integration.

You will also foster a culture of continuous improvement by regularly reviewing and optimising data products, contributing to the evolution of enterprise reporting platforms and communities of practice, and ensuring future system upgrades or enhancements align with the company’s evolving needs.

To succeed in this role, you should have a university degree in either a technical or commercial discipline, with preferably 8 to 14+ years of relevant experience in reporting, data or analytics. You should have strong knowledge of business metrics and KPIs used in process environments, along with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse complex data and propose effective solutions.

You should bring experience using SAP as the primary data source for the design of reporting or dashboard solutions consumed by a variety of stakeholder groups, from operational teams to senior management.

Strong knowledge of commercial data sourced from SAP contract-to-cash process execution is required, including sales and distribution, logistics and supply chain, as well as relevant SAP S/4HANA tables or CDS. Prior experience working on projects that drive reporting standardisation, simplification or SAP reporting system implementation will be important.

Experience working across business, data and technology teams to simplify, standardise and industrialise reporting solutions across SAP and non-SAP platforms is also highly valued. Knowledge of commercial strategic value pillars, value trees and the underlying SAP data that supports key metrics would be beneficial, as would experience with Strategic Enterprise Management.

You should have a proven track record in leading teams, including internal and external team members, and fostering a strong team culture within a networked operating model. Experience working in a global and cross-time-zone context is preferred, along with experience in a project environment and the demonstrated ability to drive successful outcomes.

Strong knowledge of ERP systems and their reporting capabilities is preferred, particularly SAP S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, CDS, BDC and Datasphere. Experience as a key appointment holder in large implementation projects using methodologies such as Waterfall or Agile is required.

Experience using reporting tools such as SAC and Power BI with SAP is also important, while experience implementing BW/4HANA or data lake-type solutions would be preferred. Knowledge of AI applications, particularly in the context of SAC or other reporting platforms, would be advantageous.

The successful candidate should be able to build strong relationships with users and senior stakeholders, influence decisions, and lead key stakeholder communications across both internal and external engagements.
