Reporting to the General Manager, Strategic Delivery, the Product Owner – Auto and Personal Loans is accountable for portfolio-specific product ownership across Avanti’s Auto and Personal Loan products.

As Avanti enters a period of sustained growth and increasing delivery complexity across New Zealand and Australia, this role provides the dedicated focus needed to define where to play within the portfolio, shape product propositions, and manage the end-to-end product lifecycle.

The role is designed to support faster, more sustainable delivery by ensuring clear portfolio priorities, close alignment with customer and introducer needs, and execution of the product roadmap to enhance the overall value proposition.

What you’ll be doingThis is a hands-on role where you’ll sit at the heart of delivery, strategy, and customer outcomes.

Day-to-day product ownership of Avanti’s Auto and Personal Loan portfolio.

Develop a product strategy and roadmap ensuring priorities are clear, sequenced and aligned to business growth objectives.

Define where to play within the portfolio by identifying customer, introducer and market opportunities and translating these into product priorities and propositions.

Manage the end-to-end product lifecycle for the portfolio, from concept and design through to launch, and ongoing enhancement to ensure strong retention of customers over time.

Work closely with delivery, technology, operations, distribution, risk and compliance teams to convert roadmap priorities into executable initiatives.

Make trade-off decisions within the portfolio to balance customer outcomes, commercial performance, regulatory requirements and delivery constraints.

Use customer, adviser, operational and performance insights to refine propositions and continuously improve product outcomes within the portfolio.

Proactively identify delivery risks, dependencies and bottlenecks within the portfolio, escalating where needed to support pace and execution.

What you’ll bringYou’ll ideally have:5+ years experience in a product ownership, product management, or product delivery role within financial services, ideally with exposure to Auto and Personal Loan products in NZ and AU.Strong understanding of lending products in the NZ market.

Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into practical roadmap priorities and support delivery through cross-functional teams.

Commercial acumen and confidence using data, customer insights and operational feedback to inform product decisions and improvements.

Ability to manage competing priorities within a portfolio and make pragmatic trade-off decisions to maintain pace and focus.

Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work effectively across technology, operations, distribution, risk and compliance teams.

Understanding of the Australian lending market is highly advantageous.

Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to bring clarity to priorities, decisions and outcomes.A practical, hands-on approach, with curiosity, accountability and a strong bias for execution.
