The opportunity

We’re looking for a Product Owner to join our Customer Solutions team. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of customer-facing products that directly impact how Aucklanders move around the city, helping shape smarter, more connected journeys across our transport network.

In this role, you’ll drive ongoing improvements and new initiatives across our customer-centric products, bringing together strategy, insights, and delivery in a complex and rewarding environment. You’ll work across the organisation and with key partners to prioritise initiatives, align stakeholders, and deliver meaningful improvements to the customer experience.

In this role, you’ll:

Lead the end-to-end product strategy, roadmap and backlog, ensuring alignment with AT’s wider customer and organisational priorities Translate customer insights, behaviour and research into initiatives that genuinely improve digital and physical journeys Work closely with agile squads and cross-functional stakeholders to prioritise work and deliver high-quality, high-impact outcomes Continuously improve experiences across key customer-facing channels Champion a customer-first mindset, ensuring decisions are driven by data, insights and real user needs Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?

As a seasoned professional, you’ll bring experience operating in large, complex and performance-driven environments, along with a genuine passion for improving customer experiences at scale.

You’ll also bring:

Proven experience as a Product Owner (or similar) working within an agile environment A strong background in customer experience, product development, end-to-end customer journeys or digital innovation Demonstrated ability to influence, align and collaborate with stakeholders across a large organisation Confidence translating customer needs into clear roadmaps, user stories and deliverables A strategic mindset, with the ability to balance long-term vision with day-to-day delivery priorities Demonstrated deep understanding of how to interpret research and data and turn findings into actionable insights Strong communication, problem-solving and relationship-building skills Ko mātou tēnei | Our OrganisationAt Auckland Transport, people are at the heart of everything we do.
