Job Summary

Performant Capital is seeking a motivated Junior Software Engineer to support thedevelopment of innovative, “skunk works” style projects across our portfolio of companies. Thisis an entry-level role designed for individuals who are eager to build real-world software, learn quickly, and contribute to high-impact initiatives.

You will work alongside experienced developers and business stakeholders to design, build, anddeploy software solutions that create tangible value. This role offers hands-on exposure to full stack development, modern technologies, and direct collaboration with business users.

Compensation

• Base Salary: $85,000 – $95,000 (commensurate with experience)
• Qualifications● Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)● Familiarity with at least one programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, C#, or similar)● Basic understanding of front-end and back-end development concepts● Exposure to databases (SQL or NoSQL) and version control systems (e.g., Git)● Interest in learning cloud platforms and modern development tools● Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail● Effective communication skills and willingness to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders● Eagerness to learn, adapt, and take on new challenges in a fast-paced environment
• Responsibilities● Assist in building and maintaining full stack applications from concept to deployment● Collaborate with senior developers to design and implement scalable solutions● Work with business users to understand requirements and translate them into technical tasks● Support integration efforts with existing systems and applications● Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure high-quality deliverables● Contribute to multiple projects simultaneously while managing priorities effectively● Continuously learn and apply new technologies, including AI/ML tools and cloud services
• Example Projects● Assist in building a comprehensive database of specialized healthcare providers● Support data analysis initiatives involving structured and unstructured datasets● Help develop conversational tools and automation solutions using modern AI technologies● Contribute to performance-focused applications, such as interactive data visualization tools● Research and prototype emerging technologies to support business innovation
