We are currently seeking a Software Cloud Engineer to join our Power & Energy Transition team. This role offers the opportunity to join a rapidly growing company delivering industry-leading solutions to customers in the world’s most dynamic and fastest-growing sector. The Pearl Street Technologies team's mission is to accelerate the transition to a reliable, decarbonized grid.
Pearl Street Technologies was recently acquired into the Power & Energy Transition team at Enverus. We deliver software solutions to electric grid operators, utilities, and renewable energy project developers to tackle the "interconnection bottleneck," the process by which large-scale solar, wind, and battery projects connect to the power grid.
To date, nearly 300 billion watts’ worth of renewable energy projects have been modeled in our software to expedite their interconnection to the grid – equivalent to nearly 700 million solar panels, 30 billion LEDs, or 390 million horses! Performance Objectives RoleWe are looking for a software cloud engineer who is comfortable taking ownership of complex projects while collaborating with existing members of the team. We’re continuously improving our Interconnect© and SUGAR™ application to make it faster, easier, and cheaper for renewable energy projects to be deployed on the grid.
You will play a leading role in supporting and developing the cloud systems which enable our SaaS products:
Supporting and enhancing the software engineering workflow supporting the products (Github Actions, AWS) Debugging and improving the DevOps flow Collaborating with the software development team to plan enhancements to cloud infrastructure to improve performance and reliability of the cloud services (Kubernetes, Docker, AWS SQS) Continuously improve the logging, metrics, and debuggability of the overall cloud solution (Grafana) as well as assisting in dashboards and monitoring Maintain SOC2 compliance with development and maintenance processes Your work will help project developers deploy more (and better) zero-carbon generation projects on the grid!
Competitive
Strong experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, and related practices, especially using AWS. Deep expertise in utilizing Kubernetes to deploy computationally complex services at scale Skilled at using Docker to package various services for deployment Able to understand and debug across a variety of languages, including Python, Javascript, Typescript, as well as others Familiarity with Git/Github or other version control system Strong analytical problem-solving skills and/or STEM degree preferred A passion for learning, teaching, and building beautiful software and cloud infrastructure Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools to automate infrastructure deployments
Ability to sit for long periods, work on a computer with repetitive motions and utilize devices typically found in an office environment. Ability to communicate effectively with another person. Regular and predictable attendance is required. Ability to work in an office environment as required. Travel requirements – up to 10% or as required for company needs.
