DevOps Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer for a Contract job with a client in Chandler, AZ/Plano, TX(Hybrid). Ideally looking for applicants with a solid background in the financial services industry.

Rate Range: $60-65/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Cloud DevOps Engineer with strong experience in AWS/Azure infrastructure automation to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and automating cloud platform services and database infrastructure while ensuring compliance with enterprise architecture standards, security policies, and operational best practices.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD automation, cloud platforms, and container technologies. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure solutions that support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and automate AWS and Azure cloud infrastructure and platform services.
• Develop reusable Terraform modules, infrastructure templates, and Ansible playbooks to automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Git/Bitbucket, and Ansible Tower.
• Develop automation scripts using Python and Bash Shell to streamline operational processes.
• Support AWS and Azure database services, ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance.
• Automate cloud integrations and infrastructure deployments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices.
• Deploy and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, deployment, and automation issues across cloud environments.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and application teams to deliver secure, scalable, and resilient infrastructure solutions.
• Continuously improve deployment processes, operational efficiency, and platform reliability.
• Follow DevOps best practices, security standards, and architectural governance throughout the software development lifecycle.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on experience with AWS DevOps and/or Azure DevOps.
• 2+ years of experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• 2+ years of experience developing Ansible playbooks and automation.
• 2+ years of experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git (Bitbucket), and Ansible Tower.
• 2+ years of experience with Python scripting.
• 2+ years of experience with Bash Shell scripting.
• Experience automating integrations and deployments within AWS and/or Azure environments.
• Working knowledge of AWS and Azure database services.
• Experience with Linux operating systems.
• Strong understanding of container technologies and orchestration platforms, including Kubernetes.
• Experience with Red Hat OpenShift.
• Knowledge of Redis, MongoDB, and SingleStore databases.
• Understanding of DevOps methodologies and Agile development practices.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting enterprise-scale cloud infrastructure.
• Knowledge of cloud security, monitoring, and infrastructure automation best practices.
• Experience working in highly available and production-critical environments.
• Familiarity with modern DevOps tools and cloud-native technologies.
