We are seeking a highly capable Manager of Information Technology to serve as a hands-on technical leader within our firm. This role is ideal for an experienced IT professional who thrives in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment and brings both deep technical expertise and strong leadership capability.
POSITION SUMMARY
- The Manager of Information Technology will be responsible for the design, implementation, security, and day-to-day operation of the firm’s technology environment.
- Acting as both a senior technologist and escalation point, this individual will play a critical role in ensuring reliability, security, and performance across all IT systems while directly supporting attorneys and business operations.KEY RESPONSIBLITIES: Technical Leadership & Escalation
- Lead and mentor IT staff while remaining actively engaged in day-to-day technical work
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex or high-impact technical issues
- Establish and maintain IT standards, procedures, and best practices
- Infrastructure & Operations
- Manage and support core technology infrastructure, including:
- Servers, networks, storage, telecommunications, and cloud systems
- Perform system administration functions such as patching, monitoring, backups, upgrades, and performance optimization
- Ensure high availability, reliability, and responsiveness of all firm systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve advanced hardware, software, and connectivity issues
- Legal Technology & End-User Support
- Administer and support legal-specific platforms, including:
- Document management systems
- Practice management, billing, and timekeeping systems
- Litigation support and eDiscovery tools
- Partner directly with attorneys and staff to improve workflows and optimize system usage
- Provide hands-on support for critical client matters, trials, and presentations as needed
- Cybersecurity & Risk Management
- Implement and maintain security controls, including MFA, endpoint protection, encryption, firewalls, and remote access solutions
- Oversee backup processes, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity testing
- Respond to security incidents, audits, and client security inquiries
- Microsoft 365 & Cloud Administration
- Administer Microsoft 365 (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive) and related security configurations
- Manage SaaS platforms, integrations, licensing, and access controls
- Optimize systems for performance, security, and cost efficiency
- Asset & Lifecycle Management
- Oversee procurement, deployment, and lifecycle management of hardware and software
- Maintain accurate inventories and ensure licensing compliance
- Planning & Continuous Improvement
- Identify practical system improvements based on operational experience
- Balance innovation with stability and risk management appropriate for a legal environment
- Participate in and lead technology projects from design through execution
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)5+ years of progressive IT experience, including leadership responsibilities
- Strong hands-on experience across infrastructure, systems administration, and support
- Preferred
- Experience in a law firm or professional services environment
- Familiarity with legal technology platforms and workflows
