Corporate Finance Analyst (Buy Side) - rare opportunity

Corporate Finance Analyst, (Buy Side) very rare opportunity Corporate Finance Analyst, working for one of the most well know and respected funds within Australia.

Looking for a Jnr (1-2) years experience max who is passionate about markets and highly commercial, predominantly focussed on small cap ECM in a generalist role encompassing research, writing pitch decks and presentations, at its core is still DCF/3 Way modelling but, you will be applying that acumen in real time partaking in front office deals from day one.

The team is on a winning streak with unprecedented growth, meaning a huge deal pipeline and respect from the other end trading off this fund's reputationWhat I do need is some markets experience and acumen, however the cornerstone of this role is still rooted in DCF 3/Way modelling but someone why can look at a financial statement / model from the sell side and question what's behind the numbers and what that means from a commercial standpoint - this requires a deep curiosity, smarts, and capital markets experience is probably a must have (it's a jnr role so not a must have). I also need very strong IT technicals - high level SQL is a non negotiable (if you come from a data science background or engineering I have seen some excellent young guys who have made the jump..I am very open to top pick guys from the big 4 (TS, M&A Advisory), obviously anyone from IB, very interested in candidates coming from Equity Research.

Your role and responsibilities include

• Financial Modelling of companies (DCF / 3 Way) / emphasis on the ability to understand financial statements and see whats behind the numbers from a commercial stand pointAs Hoc Equity Research notes on companies as updates on companies arise- Structuring and executing transactions tailored to the risk preference of the clients- Assist with the preparation of detailed equity capital market data analytics for the purpose of producing Pitch book’s and Fact Sheets- Involvement in client pitch preparation, and idea generation for the firm- Building and maintaining relationships with new and existing clients throughout the transaction processYour experience and skills will ideally include:- 1/2 + years experience in Capital Markets - ECM, IB Equity Research (still very interested in Big 4 guys from (TS, M&A Advisory, Modelling and Valuations - only the cream of the crop commercial guys)- Advanced Excel (high level SQL is a prerequisite (some Python coding would be a nice to have and Data Analysis / Financial Modelling (DCF / 3 Way)- High level of commercial acumen- Effective written and verbal communication skills- Excellent network-building and client management abilityFor a confidential discussion please contact James Fulton - james@fulsearch.com.au or msg me on Linkedin
