Senior Accountant/Bookkeeper

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing comprehensive accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, and supporting financial reporting processes. This role requires proficiency with various accounting software and a strong understanding of corporate finance principles.

The Senior Accountant/Bookkeeper will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of our financial data and supporting strategic decision-making.

Duties

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely payments and collections
• Perform account reconciliations, including bank reconciliation, to verify accuracy of financial data
• Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, and AccountEdge for daily bookkeeping tasks
• Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly
• Assist with budgeting, financial reporting, and auditing activities to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations
• Process payroll accurately using relevant payroll systems and ensure proper documentation
• Maintain organized financial records and prepare detailed reports for management review
• Support month-end and year-end closing procedures with attention to detail
• Collaborate with internal teams to improve accounting processes and implement best practices

Qualifications

• Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles, preferably in a corporate finance environment
• Strong proficiency with accounting software including QuickBooks
• Knowledge of account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, payroll processing, and account analysis
• Familiarity with auditing procedures and financial services industry standards is a plus
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Relevant certifications or degrees in Accounting, Finance, or related fields are preferred
