Position Overview

An established manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead a multi-shift production facility specializing in plastic film extrusion and flexible packaging materials.

This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day plant operations across production, maintenance, quality, and shipping, ensuring safe, efficient, and consistent output of high-performance plastic films and bag products. The position requires a strong understanding of extrusion-based manufacturing and the ability to lead teams in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of a plastics extrusion and converting facility (film production, slitting, bag making)
• Lead and develop supervisors and production teams within a multi-shift environment
• Monitor key performance metrics (e.g., throughput, scrap, uptime) and report results to leadership
• Coordinate production planning, raw material usage (resins), and inventory control
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality requirements, and operational procedures
• Partner with maintenance to maintain uptime of extrusion lines, dies, and auxiliary equipment
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on yield, efficiency, and waste reduction
• Support workforce management and training efforts in collaboration with HR

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing leadership role within plastics, film extrusion, or flexible packaging
• Working knowledge of blown film or cast film extrusion processes
• Familiarity with polymer materials (e.g., polyethylene, nylon, or similar resins)
• Experience in a multi-shift or continuous production environment
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
