Role Summary
The Credit Manager role is critical in safeguarding the company's revenues by ensuring strict compliance with corporate credit policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The Credit Manager oversees the end-to-end Accounts Receivable (AR) cycle, driving timely billing, proactive collections, and the identification and mitigation of credit risks in close collaboration with the Operations and Sales teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct reference checks for the onboarding of new customers and support evaluating creditworthiness.
- Perform periodic credit reviews of existing clients to adjust credit limits and terms based on payment history.
- Proactively identify and report collection risks to management, partnering with Operations and Sales teams to implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensure timely, accurate billing and maintain clear, professional communication with customers regarding their accounts.
- Monitor the daily Accounts Receivable ledger, high-balance reports, and credit exposure summaries, ensuring all accounts are accurately reconciled.
- Drive the collection process by actively following up on overdue accounts, escalating potential risks to senior management.
- Oversee the application and reconciliation of unallocated payments, taking the lead in resolving short payments and customer disputes.
- Ensure the timely submission of collection reports and oversee bank deposits related to AR clients.
- Support the month-end financial closing process by providing accurate and timely AR schedules and reports.
- Calculate and maintain accurate reserves for doubtful accounts (bad debt provisioning) based on aging reports and risk assessments.
- Prepare and submit Finance Assurance Report schedules in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ensure full compliance with internal credit policies, SOPs, and financial controls across all AR activities.
- Support both statutory and internal audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Participate in COE efficiency improvement projects to streamline billing and collection workflows.
- Execute any ad-hoc or special assignments as directed by the Finance Manager or Head of Finance.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.5+ years of experience in Credit Control, Accounts Receivable, or a similar finance role, preferably within the hospitality or corporate COE environment.
- Opera, Sun-system and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to maintain strong cross-functional relationships (especially with Sales and Operations) while firmly enforcing credit policies.
