DevOps Engineer

Hiring: Senior DevOps / Platform Engineer (Crew Team)📍 Heathrow – 3 days per week💰 £800/day (Inside IR35)🕒 Initial 6–12 month contract with extension potentialWe’re supporting a major transformation programme within aviation and are looking for a Senior DevOps / Platform Engineer to join a high-impact delivery team.

This is not a traditional people leadership role. We’re looking for someone who leads through technical depth, ownership and delivery — someone who is comfortable getting hands-on while helping shape and standardise DevOps ways of working across a complex enterprise environment.

You’ll sit within the Crew team and play a key role driving platform delivery, improving operational maturity and helping simplify how engineering teams work across environments.

What you’ll be doing:

• Driving hands-on DevOps and platform delivery across the squad
• Building and improving CI/CD pipelines, automation and infrastructure standards
• Supporting operational stability through monitoring, observability and proactive maintenance
• Working closely with architecture, cyber and platform teams to deliver pragmatic outcomes
• Leading infrastructure improvements, environment optimisation and governance alignment
• Creating reusable templates, playbooks and standards to improve consistency across delivery teams
• Troubleshooting complex technical issues and removing blockers where neededWhat we’re looking for:
• Strong AWS experience (IAM, networking, ECS/EKS, Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Background in platform engineering, DevOps and infrastructure automation
• Experience with CI/CD tooling such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins or similar
• Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools (Datadog, CloudWatch etc.)
• Experience operating in large-scale, complex enterprise environments
• Ability to balance technical delivery with stakeholder managementBonus experience:
• Previous experience within consulting environments (MBB or strategy consulting highly valued)
• Exposure to transformation programmes
• Leadership experience is useful but not essential
• Aviation experience welcome but not requiredThis role would suit someone who enjoys bringing structure to complexity, driving standards and staying close to the technology.
