Senior IT Manager

Sparks Group is seeking a hands-on Senior IT Manager to own and operate the company’s technology environment, including business systems, infrastructure, cybersecurity, vendor relationships, and automation initiatives.

This is a working technical leadership role responsible for ensuring stability, integration, and continuous improvement of the company’s core staffing, recruiting, payroll, and client-facing systems.

The ideal candidate is equally comfortable supporting end users, troubleshooting production issues, managing cloud and identity infrastructure, and partnering with vendors and business leaders to resolve system challenges.

This role requires strong technical judgment, broad systems ownership capability, and the ability to operate independently in a lean IT environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day IT operations across users, offices, and remote staff including device provisioning, onboarding/offboarding, and end-user support.
• Manage core infrastructure including cloud environments, identity services, endpoint management, backups, and disaster recovery readiness.
• Experience supporting cloud-hosted infrastructure, preferably AWS EC2 with both Windows and Linux server operating systems.
• Serve as technical owner for business-critical applications, including Erecruit ATS, Microsoft Dynamics GP/Great Plains ERP, payroll/financial systems, and internal and client-facing portals.
• Support and improve system integrations, data flows, and production application reliability across platforms.
• Administer Microsoft 365 and related identity, collaboration, and security services.
• Lead cybersecurity operations including endpoint protection, access controls, incident response, and user security practices.
• Manage technology vendors, licensing, renewals, and support escalation.
• Partner with business leaders to translate operational needs into practical technical solutions.
• Lead automation and AI-enabled initiatives that improve efficiency and reduce manual processes.
• Communicate system status, risks, and priorities clearly to executive leadership.
• Maintain documentation and improve operational resilience and cross-training.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of IT experience with ownership of business-critical systems in a small or mid-sized environment.
• Strong hands-on Microsoft 365 administration experience including Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, Entra ID.Experience managing cloud infrastructure (AWS or equivalent) preferably AWS EC2 with both Windows and Linux server operating systems and hybrid environments.
• Working knowledge of networking fundamentals including DNS, VPN, firewalls, certificates, connectivity.
• Experience supporting enterprise business systems, including ATS, CRM, ERP, payroll, or financial platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot production systems and integrations across multiple vendors.
• Strong vendor management and business communication skills.
• Ability to operate independently in a high-ownership, lean IT environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Staffing, recruiting, or workforce solutions industry experience.
• Experience supporting Erecruit ATS and/or Microsoft Dynamics GP/Great Plains.
• Experience with system integrations, APIs, or relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
• Experience with automation, scripting, or development (Python, C#, .NET).
• Experience with AI-enabled tools or internal automation initiatives.
